A Favorite Verse – Acts 17:28a “For in Him, we live, and move and have our being…”
Why? – Another favorite verse I lean into in times of angst!
Jesus is in us and all around us.
We are encased in His love, wisdom, compassion, and righteousness.
He hems us in behind and before. (Psalm 139:5)
His wings are above us (Psalm 91:4).
His everlasting arms are beneath us (Deuteronomy 33:27).
He makes our steps secure (Psalm 40:26 ESV).
What have we to fear? Enveloped on the outside—we are even told to put on the whole armor of God. (Ephesians 6:11-15)
The Holy Spirit indwelling on the inside.
What have I to fear? I find rest for my soul in you, Jesus (Matthew 11:29)
Diana Gilley
Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
With all that has gone on for the last couple of years and still ongoing, there is much in the world to fear. Yet the Bible says 365 times “Do Not Fear”, one for every day of the year.
I can honestly say that there have been times of worry and concern, but I have not ever been overtaken by abject fear.
Whenever the enemy tries to sneak fear into my mind, I start singing worship and praise songs or I say: “You and me Jesus, we got this.”
Take every thought captive!
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5
Janice K Feagin
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Why: I have often heard the word “careful” in this verse referred to as “anxious”.
During the year and a half, I had to wait for my brain surgery in Portland,
I found myself being anxious.
The Lord always brought this verse to my mind, and it was so comforting. Thank you, Jesus.
