1 Thessalonians 4:18

“Therefore, encourage one another with these words.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11

"Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."

Hebrews 13:22

"I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly."

Romans 15:15

"But on some points, I have written you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God."

Diana’s been writing since elementary school. She always felt like words bubbled up and spilled over.  Her job was to collect them, order them, place them on paper and get a good grade in school.

From poetry, plays, readers’ theater and prose a bit here, a bit there.

Now, walking closer with Jesus, her writing has taken on new meaning.

Memorial Service

I enter the room unseen, unheard; observing the group as they mingle.

There are different ages and types--an assortment of God’s chosen.  The conversations indicate various levels of spiritual awareness and unawareness, some are not yet saved.  Sharing coffee and sweets they connect in knowing one special person.

This is the reception following a memorial for a dearly departed saint.  Friends are commiserating with experiences and stories centered on him.

Some guests are tearful, others composed with nothing but wonderful things to say about him, nothing negative today.  Still, others are simply quiet.

I stay in the background and allow my senses to take in the feel of the room:  the different degrees of grief, where the most need is. This is a room heavy with emotion and those attending are tender and vulnerable.

I patiently discern who will accept what I have to offer or who will not, who can offer comfort and who can receive it.  The need is great.

I make my way among the mourners, with a touch here and a thought impressed upon a heart there.  My presence is felt by some and ignored by others.  This is a time when many are considering their own mortality, their personal standing with God.

Regret wafts through the group; self-doubt, questions, reflections.  This is God’s purpose in an event like this, that His children will turn to Him and match their steps to His.

I fill the room to overflowing with His grace and make my leave just the way I came; unseen and unheard, but always where I am needed.

I Am.    The Holy Spirit!

“Sing, O heavens; and be joyful,

O earth; and break forth into singing,

O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted His people and will have mercy upon His afflicted.”   Isaiah 49:13

Love Doesn’t Leave

There are many ways to describe love, and many ways to misappropriate the word and the emotion as well. We have made it common and almost meaningless by attributing it to things of little true value.

There are also many wonderful applications of this heartfelt emotion where it becomes something you do as well as feel. No matter what form it takes, love makes life worth living.

However, I have been meditating on a deeper, more comprehensive love. This love is given from God to His creation --- to us; the ones made in His image.

It is impossible to grasp the depth of God’s love for us.   How many times have we tried to wrap our minds around the concept of a perfect God loving an imperfect people:  A love deep enough to die for us to gain our eternal life? Not only are we incapable of giving unconditional love, but we cannot even begin to understand it.

How great is our God!

Those who do not love God or believe in His redemption through the cross; those who disbelieve or ignore His incredible love still live in His love… because of His love.   They still benefit from His grace and mercy. They may deny, defy, and scream at His existence, but He continues to love, protect, and offer them salvation.

All our lives are enveloped in His love. His is fathomless where we can only understand it in degrees. Outside of His love there is no life.  For those of us who love God and strive to love Him, more love carries a great spiritual

meaning. Not only can we be secure for our eternal future, but we can live on a richer plain of happiness and a deeper experience of joy, contingent only on what Christ has done on the cross.

There is no greater love mankind can ever know than the love of his creator. No matter which side of the cross we are on when we die, God’s love doesn’t leave.

“The Lord hath appeared unto me from old saying, yea, I have loved you with an everlasting love.”  Jeremiah 31:3

"And to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”  Ephesians 3:19

Enough

As I age, I find myself weighing time; how much I’ve had…what I have left...have I done enough…what do I still need to do?

Growing up in a work-oriented society, I always question my productivity, past as well as future. I find myself showering in God’s grace to counter that ingrained trait, only to turn around and start weighing again.

As a Lord centered Christian, I don’t need to measure my worth. God has already done that, and I was found lacking.  But God allowed Jesus to take all of my flaws, sins and shortcomings and pay for them in my place…in short, erase them.

Therefore, I am worthy.

My works don’t need to be measured.

As long as I follow God’s word, live according to the direction of the Holy Spirit, I am doing well. There is no need to question how much is enough.

I am, however, allowed to examine my motives, which goes deeper than counting works and keeping score. Then I realize my questioning and weighing is actually doubting. I am questioning. I am questioning if Christ’s work on the cross is enough….am I really covered…was His sacrifice complete…what did He leave for me to do?

I deny His Word, His love, and His sacrifice. I deny Him!  If Jesus loved me enough to die for me, and He did, I am worth more than I can humanly understand. I don’t have to “measure” up.

If I have accepted Jesus wholly into my heart, I accept all that He is and all that He had done. And I am doing myself a disservice becoming distracted from meditating on the love of God, and in essence, focusing on myself.

Truth: I could never measure up

Better truth: I don’t have to, it is done.

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” Psalm 32:1

Wood, Hay, and Stubble

As believers we don’t stand before God in judgment as unbelievers; however, we do give an account of our ministry.

Our work, done in faith and for the kingdom, will be evaluated. Anything we do that does not enrich the kingdom will be burnt up as wood, hay and stubble. 1 Corinthians 3:12

Wood is used for building. What have we built in our ministry that enriches God’s kingdom?

Do we build faith in new believers?

Do we erect temples of godliness in our homes, in our families, in our churches, in one another?

Do we stand strong against the enemy, creating a safe refuge for others?

Do we shelter and comfort? Are we just shiny reflections, standing for others to admire: reflecting God but not working for Him? These things we have built in our ministry and lives as Christians will be rewarded or burnt up. How we use our gifts and talents matters.

Hay is something we, the sheep and the goats, take into our spirits to nourish our souls and provide for growth. What are we allowing into our hearts, lives, homes and families?

What are we bringing in and allowing our children to feed on? We set beautiful and lavish tables with the finest of everything; but if we serve poisonous food our loved ones will be ingesting it as well. Rotten fruit spoils all around it; sickens the spirit and insults the Creator.

Stubble is what is left after the harvest. The effectiveness of your ministry is seen here; exposed to all and unable to be changed. When the Lord harvests your soul what will be left?

Will there be evidence of thick rich wheat that provided for God’s people, or will it be just a few wisps of dried stalk left here and there? Can that field be groomed and re-grown by other believers, or would it best be burned and turned to ashes?

Three ways to examine our individual ministries.

Some food for thought and seeds for prayer.

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16

Counter Story

Being a good listener is a special gift; even though it blesses the speaker more than the listener. If you’ve ever needed to talk to someone and found a listening ear you know what I mean. Call it a double blessing.

There is one aspect of this gift that can dampen the benefits of a good listener; and that is the counter story.

When you are sharing with someone, be it an emotional event or even a less personal incident, and the other person interrupts to tell you of a very similar experience they have had…. That is a counter story.

It does two immediate things. First, it is no longer about you but becomes about the listener. Second, it tells you that you are not being heard.

This is something we have all experienced and have been guilty of doing ourselves. It’s a natural response as our compassion draws us to commiserate and let them know, “I know exactly how you feel.”

When in truth we can never know exactly how someone else feels because we are not them.

Being a good listener is to step outside yourself and give your all to the person who needs your gift. The best blessing is given when you open your heart and your ears; do not interrupt and do not compare.

Don’t offer advice unless the speaker asks you and be sure it is scripturally based. Your gift will be better received, and you will reap a blessing as well.

Remember, they (those experts out there) say that 86% of helping others is just showing up. Words are not always necessary.

“Go thou near; and hear all that the Lord our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak unto thee, and we will hear it and do it.” Deuteronomy 5:27

It is Finished

The last words spoken by Jesus on the cross, “It is finished.” The greatest act of love in all creation, in all time, was contained in those words. The God who created us, designed us after Himself, loved us enough to manifest in human form and make the ultimate sacrifice.

This God died in agony for the ungrateful. His mercy, long suffering that is beyond measure is more than any one of us deserve.

“But God commandeth His love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Jesus stepped out of time to gather every sin of everyone, past and future, before it was even committed, and took it to the cross. It is finished is the most powerful statement ever made.

Because Jesus uttered those words, we can attain eternal life.

Staying out of the confines of time, I look at what else is finished. The heinous acts of the past finished; the sins as yet uncommitted, finished. The pain suffered in the past; lives marred and cut short, the pain of the future; sins the enemy if tempting us to act upon….all finished.

The God who knew us before the foundation of the world sees us as finished and seated in the heavenlies with Him. He knows the beginning from the ending and everything in between.

It is His will that none should perish but obtain eternal life. It is His love that holds existence together.

“Declaring the end from the beginning; and from ancient times, the things that are not yet done.” Isaiah 46:10

He has started us out, given the ultimate goal, laid out the best plan or each; but has given us free will to forge our path if we choose, or reject Him entirely. We walk through this script one page at a time. We stray from the script; from His plan for us, yet He comes after us, not to punish but to redeem.

Those who are lost need to open the book, repent and accept salvation by what Jesus has done; what the Father has planned. God so loved the world that it is finished.

“The Lord is not lack concerning His promise as some count slackness but is longsuffering towards us; not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Attitude: What's Yours?

He restores my soul at the end of a long hard day

And He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake

The Lord is my Shepherd...He's my partner on the trail.

I shall not want...For my Lord, He is faithful

He makes me to lie down in green pastures

And He leads me beside still waters.

Yea, though I walk...through the valley of the shadow of death

I will fear no evil for He is with me

He prepares a table, anoints my head...and my cup runs over

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life

From sunup to sundown, He'll help me...to do what is right.

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever

And we're gonna ride heaven's trails...together.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”  Mark 12:30-31

UGLY

Do you ever find yourself thinking ugly thoughts of unkindness, uncaring, or have an unloving attitude toward another?

As believers we are to walk in grace and love.

Sometimes “us being right” can be a bigger concern to us than the salvation of those who are lost.

When that happens, have we missed the whispers of the Holy Spirit?

It is far too easy to say they don’t deserve mercy…all the while forgetting we don’t deserve it either.

Invite the Lord into every situation before the “ugly” thoughts starts.

“And therefore will the Lord wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you:  for the Lord is a God of judgment:  blessed are all they that wait for Him.” Isaiah 30:18

Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen

Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen and Yet Have Believed!

“For we live by believing and not by seeing.”  2 Corinthians 5:7 (NLT)

“Thomas replied, ‘My Lord and my God!' Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:28-29

Years ago, I received a little note card in the mail. It was not signed so I had no way of knowing who sent it. But I did know this; I was on God’s heart and He spoke the scripture written on that card, to me… Those words are engraved on my heart for all these many years afterwards.

I am glad I don’t know who sent it! For I have only the Lord to focus on. He knew what encouragement I would need to keep believing even when darkness surrounds me and there seems to be no hope at all.

Nothing seems to be happening in that seemingly hopeless situation. Things look the same as they have for years and years! But I believe He is at work! I know in my heart, like Thomas said, “My Lord, and My God”!

Jesus won the victory!

He wears the Victor’s Crown!

He is not defeated!

The enemy was defeated long ago and even though on the surface things appear hopeless, I believe in God’s faithfulness!

I believe His Word!

His Spirit is working when I cannot see anything changing!

I will keep on believing!

And I will see with my eyes in His timing!

I thank Him now for all He is doing!

I thank Him for His faithfulness and love!

Thomas saw with his eyes and Jesus said we are blessed when we believe even though we do not see!

“Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

“And….Thus says the LORD: ‘Keep your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your work,’ declares the LORD!” Jeremiah 31:16

The God of All Joy

“The joy of the Lord is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10

Money was in short supply that day, but I had a “wild hair” and decided to pile the family into the car and head off to Rice Hill for ice cream cones!

I had taken mental stock of my resources and figured I had enough gas for the round trip and enough cash for ice cream cones for everyone.

Those were also the days we had invited foster children into our home so there were “many” of us! But “we can do this”.

Off we went!

Rice Hill was a wonderful place to stop while driving from Medford area to Eugene or Portland…but just to go on a “whim”? That wasn’t a common practice to the practical. In fact, some might have said I was very unwise to do such a thing.

Rice Hill is about 121 miles from Medford, Oregon, so it is a 242-mile round trip. (for those of you that might not be familiar with the drive).

As I was driving home that day, I was getting very close to home, almost to Grants Pass, but I was watching the gas gauge, and it was getting uncomfortably close to empty! I had spent all the cash on ice cream, so now all I had was a checkbook, and if I remember correctly most places out of town wouldn’t accept a check.

I pulled into a gas station and pleaded with them to accept my check. Maybe the thought of all those kids being stranded at his gas station scared him, but he consented to fill the tank and accept my check and we made it home!

I enjoy the memory of that “spur of the moment” fun day! I even think the kids remember it with a “giggle” over the spontaneity of the whole thing. I think the Father in Heaven even instigated that fun trip!

We often think of the Father as being a “no nonsense” sort of “guy” but I know He delights in blessing His children, even more than we enjoy blessing our children!

After all He created Joy!

I know we all experience trials and hard, difficult times, but in the midst, He gives joy, we are filled with new strength and courage to go forward with our hand in His.

Look to be surprised by His joy!

Joy is both a description of God and a description of what He gives.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10

Galatians 5:22 tells us that JOY is a fruit of the Spirit. It is part of who He is!

I believe we can choose to walk in His joy as well as enjoy His surprise blessings when He pours them out!

"I Can Do Anything!" Saith The Lord

Some time ago, a rather unusual moment occurred. A gentleman, I have often seen in church but never had talked to him, came up and he tapped me on the shoulder. He introduced himself and then told me the Lord had laid me on his heart, and the Lord was going to speak to me that day. Then he went his way!

Seth was leading worship, and it might have been words from his very first song, from Job 42.

I heard “I CAN DO ANYTHING!”

If God had not prepared me in advance, I might have missed it, but I truly believe God wanted me to “listen up”!

He was so good to send a messenger

to tell me to listen and hear what God would say to me that morning!

How I needed to hear God’s Words that morning!

There were a couple things that had been weighing heavy on my heart for a very long time!

I heard God say to me that morning that “HE CAN DO ANYTHING!!!!”

Job 42:2 Job says, “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” Also, verse 15, “Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.”

Those words were His promise to me that He will do it; I just ask, and trust, He will do the rest! So, Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness! Thank You for drawing me back to those words You spoke back then and adding to them…thank You!

Many of us have those children that seem to be bent on going their own way! But they are beautiful, and God is at work and the things they are going through; the very things that appear so bad to us, God will use to minister to others! After all, look what He has done in my own life!

Nobody could have looked more hopeless than I did, but I am not that person any longer; I’m a child of the King of Kings!

He says I am a new creation in Christ Jesus!

FEAR NOT

I said unkind words to one so very dear to me! I asked forgiveness but the enemy didn’t fail to use it to beat me up for a while. I just hate hurting those I love! And I feared being that bitter old lady that no one wants to be around!

I knew where the taunts were from, but they just kept coming and I kept feeling terrible that I had hurt one so dear to me!

As I crawled into bed, I could foresee this would be a night of lying awake and beating myself up! (Am I the only person that happens to?)

So, I prayed! I told the Lord; I wanted to roll this burden over on Him… but would need His help in leaving it there through the night! Well, guess what?

He did help me, and I slept soundly even after being up a time or two.

Then this morning, I rose up in God’s Presence… First thing, I read a testimony about God’s great goodness, and it touched my heart!

As I prayed about my unkind words, suddenly I was keenly aware that my words had been spoken out of a place of fear! Fear of being left alone! That word, “abandonment” came to my mind, and I knew, what has been bothering me, and the Lord reminded me again…. “I will never, ever leave you alone!”

And… I had been placing my dependency on the wrong people! And yes, I know He sends people, but I am to be trusting in Him to send whoever He wills, at just the right time.

Deuteronomy 31:8 “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Isaiah 46:4 King James Version (KJV) “and even to your old age I am He; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.”

I have always been able to work! And I even worked (as a caregiver) after my health had taken a turn, and at one point I ask myself, “Who is taking care of who, here?” as I came to grips with my weakness.

Right now, I would probably be looking for work, but the Lord has assured me that He is always dependable, and He will care for me even to the end. I need not fear!

Tuesday, I picked up the list of 365 “fear nots” that Dan put together! What a blessing! Psalm 34:4 AMPC says, “I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him [of necessity and on the authority of His Word], and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

I have seen His faithfulness, but sometimes I (we?) have fears we don’t even realize. (Maybe these are the little foxes that spoil the vines.) Song of Solomon 2:15. Foxes can damage vineyards by digging holes and passages that loosen the soil around the vines, making it difficult for the vines to have a stable root system.

It took a sweet “stepmother” to give me understanding about the word abandonment! And it’s funny, after all these 50 years I have learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to lean upon His word. And yet He pointed out some hidden fear, like hidden “land mines”!

The Lord knew all along it was hidden there in my heart and how to bring it to the surface, so that I could give it to Him and trust Him more. He will not leave me helpless! No not ever!

I love the song, Through It All, by Andrae Crouch.

“I’ve had many tears and sorrow,

I’ve had questions for tomorrow,

There’ve been times

I didn’t know right from wrong.

But in every situation, God gave me

blessed consolation, that my trials come to only make me strong.

Through it all, through it all.

Oh, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus,

I’ve learned to trust in God

Let me tell ya that

Through it all, oh, through it all,

I’ve learned to depend upon His word.”

The Name of the Lord

The Amalekites Raid Ziklag 1 Samuel 30:5-6 “David’s two wives, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel, had been taken captive. And David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of every man grieved for his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God.” (one translation says, “But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.”)

Yesterday was one of those hard days! I couldn’t see any particular reason, but I was just depressed! Even my early morning time with the Lord wasn’t as it usually is. I wondered if it was the spiritual battle we are warned about.

I recalled the days when that was the norm for me. Back then I had no clue what was the source, but now when it happens, I know where it originates and for me the answer is to “put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”

That may seem difficult to do, for me. Pastor Dan called with a question about did I know this person

he referred to, but then he asked, “how are you doing?” And I blurted out “I am depressed!”

His next question, “why” and I said something to the effect, that I just needed to turn on my praise music! He agreed and then he prayed! He was sent to help lift up my arms to praise, when I was weak! And I was thankful, so very thankful!

Doesn’t Pastor Dan encourage us to call that person that crosses our mind? We just don’t know what they might need, maybe a cup of cold water or an encouraging word, a prayer for sure!

Later that day, my neighbor dropped in for a visit, and we were talking about how it can be frustrating to wake up so early in the morning and the “brain” just starts working overtime and going back to sleep may at times seem impossible! (There are times it is a call to prayer!)

My neighbor told me of a couple things she does that help her go back to sleep. One is to use the alphabet to bring to mind scriptures that start with each letter, until she falls back to sleep. The second way was to also use the alphabet to bring to mind, the names of the Lord. She said she usually gets to I or J and she falls asleep.

I thought, what a great idea! And sure enough, I woke up early (I try not to look at a clock) and as started bringing up the names of God, A for Almighty, B for Beloved, C for Champion, D for Deliverer, and I found myself somewhere around J or K and had trouble thinking, and then I was gone and I slept later than usual and when I woke up I was refreshed.

Lord, I am thankful for how You send people to pray and encourage us and hold up our hands when we feel weary in the battle! All we need to do is to turn the praise music on, and focus on the names of God, for they are all in the great I AM; whatever it is we need!

When I am reminding myself who He is, like David did, I find myself encouraged and at rest and peace! I was strengthened in the Lord!

Exodus 17:12-14 “When Moses’ arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites. Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Write an account of this victory’…”

For Such a Time as This!

I have heard Christians say, “I don’t know why I am still here!” Really?

I don’t care how old you may be, if God hasn’t taken you out of here yet, then He has a divine purpose for you being here, for such a time as this!

Esther 4:14 NIV “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

For me, this means that no matter what, your position or circumstances are not accidental but divinely ordained for His purpose in this specific time of our lives!

Haman, a high-ranking official, plots to exterminate all Jews in the empire. Mordecai urges Esther to use her position to intercede with the king on behalf of her people.

Our elevation to being a “daughter of the King” is that we have His heart for others to know Him. If we belong to the King of Kings, then we have purpose to pray without ceasing to our King.

Satan plots to rob, kill, and destroy. Our purpose is to intercede, to our King, on behalf of those that are following!

For some, the aging process has put limits on our bodies, and we have begun thinking that we are no longer useful at all! Maybe we can no longer get out and about!

If you are still breathing, you have a divine purpose. Praying for the dead to rise, the deaf to hear, the blind to see, is our purpose.

We are longing to be with Him, and to be out of this place, but He asks us to pray and to testify of His great Love and mercy, for as long as He sees fit… For such times as these.

"Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.” Isaiah 35:3 and Hebrews 12:12 is a call to action, encouraging individuals to persevere, especially during times of difficulty or doubt.

Isaiah 35:3, is a promise of hope and healing, encouraging those who are weak and fearful to find strength and courage in God's presence.

Lord Jesus, as we are getting closer and closer to being in Your very Presence, may we remember our purpose here; our divine purpose, to not lose heart, to pray without ceasing and to finish the “work”, of belief in You. May we not grow weary, or lose heart, and may we go out strong, finishing the work He has set before us!

If you are breathing,

you have divine purpose!

GOD'S BEST FRIEND

You too can be a man or woman after God’s own heart.

Ever had a defining moment? One time I was driving down the road, Pastor Jon was speaking on KAPL radio. Talking about David, he spoke of God saying, “David is a man after His own heart.”

A thought came to me. I want to be a man like David after God’s own heart and then something spoke to my heart: “You are.”

I can’t tell you how blessed it made me feel. It brought tears to my eyes to think God and me were best friends, special bud’s. Now that was exciting to me.

I had always known He was my Father somehow. He had taken the place of my father after my dad had been killed in a logging accident shortly after I was two years old.

Although I felt it, I never knew it was in God’s word until I was in my forties. I heard Pastor Jon teach on Psalm 68:5 “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.” And He is now my best friend.

Thank you, Jesus for making that possible. This whole thing called life is not about me. It’s about You, Jesus my Prophet, my Priest, my King, and my Lord of Lords. Praise truly belongs to You.

You are the One who made a way for me-for us to be saved. You paid the price for me, for all of us You did not owe. You exchanged my bad for Your good.

When I began to calm down after being so excited to be a man like David, I started thinking David had a lot of not so good things in his life.

How would you like to have all your sins put down in writing for all the world to see throughout all generations? But God still says David is a man after His own heart.

I think all of David’s sins are recorded for us to see and to know that with all the bad in our lives there is hope for us. And that hope is Jesus, because He takes all the bad away just like we had never sinned.

“…the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

What a friend we have in Jesus!

SCARS

The things that we are shielded from are the very things that can make us strong. Whatever doesn’t kill us will make us stronger.

Our scars can be badges of our bravery; the things and trials we have gone through in this life. Look at Jesus. See His scars. They tell of the One who “set His face like flint” towards the cross to gain the prize set before Him (that’s us).

So, whenever you feel like you are not worth much, see His scars and remember the price He paid for you.

He did all of what He went through (to save you) from everlasting torment in hell. That you might be the one He loves so much, His bride to love and cherish forever.

Thank you, Jesus for loving us.

“He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”  John 3:18

It’s Not About You – It’s Not About Me

Many years of Applegate Christian Fellowship has taught me this: It’s not about you, it’s not about me, it’s all about Jesus, can’t you see.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31

26 Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,

29 so that no one may boast before Him.

30 It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

I have always felt that if we will put out the effort – God will put up the ability if it is for Him. I told Pastor Alex I get nervous playing drums in front of him. I have only had one drum lesson in my life. Alex told me he has only had 2 lessons. I think I need one more.

Alex Heater and Mike Holland are both awesome drummers. I will do the best I can for the Lord. It’s not about me!

Singing for a long time, I couldn’t carry a tune in a wash tub let alone a bucket. After many years of singing, God has helped me stay on tune most of the time. After all, He has to listen too!

John Gilbert has been taking guitar lessons from Janice, and he is doing quite well. He wants to bless the Lord and others with Jesus’ songs. He is putting out the effort and God is giving him the ability.

I asked a friend at Cowboy Church, what’s the best gun for self-defense. He told me, “The one you have with you when you need it.”

What’s the best version of the Bible to have…it’s the one you will read.

I’ve been asked, what’s your gift in the Spirit? I trust it is the one that’s there when I need it.

While praying for a friend, not knowing what to pray, I asked God to give me a sign so I would know if I was praying right. So, I did the old plop and flop your Bible open. You plop your Bible down and flop it open and start reading.

True story. It jumped off the page at me.

Matthew 12:39-41 “He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now One greater than Jonah is here.”

Jesus chose Jonah and the fish. It’s a picture in the Old Testament of Jesus’ resurrection in the New Testament and now One greater than Jonah is here, much, much, much, much, MUCH GREATER.

Some of the parallels of Jonah and Jesus are:

Jesus and Jonah were both asleep in the bottom of a boat.

They cast lots to see who’s fault the storm was and it fell on Jonah.

They cast lots for Jesus’ clothing.

Jonah had to be thrown into the sea to calm the storm.

Jesus got up and spoke to the storm, and it became calm.

Jonah rose from the depths of the sea and was barfed out right where God wanted him to be. Jonah had a wreath of seaweed wrapped around his head.

Jesus had a crown of thorns wrapped around His head.

Jesus rose from the grave to be seated at the right hand of His Father.

Jonah preached 8 words and 120,000 repented and Jonah was mad enough to die. I would think that if you preached 8 words and 120,000 people repented, that would be a good day!

The greater than Jonah, Jesus didn’t want to die. Jesus prayed, “if it is possible, may this cup be taken from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.” Matthew 26:39b

So, Jesus set His face towards the cross absorbing the pain and shame, and most of all…the sins of the whole world that so many would be saved.

How many? More than all the stars in the sky, or the sand of the seashore, too many for us to count. And rose again to be seated by His Father ever interceding for us, our advocate.

The story of Jonah tells me you can run from God, but you can’t hide. God will get you to where He wants you to go.

He would say to you and me we can do this the easy way or the hard way, but it will be done My way.

If Jesus is in your boat when the storms of life come, and they will come, Jesus can speak to the storm and calm it.

“He can calm the storm, make the sun shine again.”

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Kids Never Forget

Mike Vanderclay was a logging contractor, big man, a man’s man, a Paul Bunion kind of guy.  I don’t think he was a Christian, but if he was…he was well camouflaged.

I mention him because about 60 years ago he told my mom: “Take these boys into town to the hardware store and get them everything they need for Cub Scouts and put it on my credit.”

We got shirts, hats, neckties, belts…all the trimmings and I have remembered, thought about, and even prayed for Mr. Vanderclay from time to time in my life.

All he did was help provide for us to be in a club, which was such a blessing as my dad had been killed as a result of a logging accident and could not afford those uniforms.

God does say, “Take care of widows and orphans.”  “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”  James 1:27

(Dexter shared this message with our Christian Trail Riders Fellowship group at a Wilderness Trails Horse Camp we were in charge of that year for 10 teenagers aged 14-18 We did several camps over the years which has given us memories of incredible breakthroughs those girls had all because of a horse:)

There are many, far too many kids in tough situations.  These girls here at this horse camp come from some of the toughest.

I want all of you to know what time you share with these kids is not wasted.  Lots and lots of people give money.

That’s easy, if you have it to give.  God likes that and blesses it.

These girls probably won’t know who gave money, but they will remember who spent a week with them sharing Jesus and horses and your testimonies.

“They overcame him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”  Revelation 12:10

Jesus loves it when we remember all He has done for us.  He gave His life so we might live with Him forever.

May we never forget and accept His free gift.

It is sad to say you don’t have to look very far to find a child, boy or girl who needs someone to care about them.

Do you think a young girl with piercings all over her face is maybe trying to say:  “Please notice me.”  “See me.”  It is much like dogs in a dog pound.  Ever been to one?  Every dog barks their loudest saying, “Please save me, please help me, please notice me.”

Thank you for those who have been a part of Wilderness Trails.  Money is a gift, and may God bless those who give.  But time spent with these kids…no price tag can be put on a soul and remember: “Kids don’t forget.”

ps Horses are angels without wings.  They like you for who you are inside.  They seem to be able to look deep into your soul, not just what is seen on the outside.  Horses accept you just as you are, and will help you heal, and we all need healing, in one way or another.

The Lord Lays Something on My Heart

A few years ago....

While struggling to see what I am writing by a Coleman Lantern, for the second time this year, you guessed it…no power. Back in January we had 18 inches of snow. Our power was out for three days…no water, no lights, but we did have a wood stove.

There we sat. Time slowed down and guess what, we were thinking of You, Lord. How much we depend on Pacific Power and Light instead of God. We sing, “You Are the Rock of Our Salvation,” but are You or is it Pacific Power and Light?

Father, You told my heart that we are all outcasts. My wife’s horse Aquilla, with problems from the past has big scars to prove what she has been through. She needs a home just like my daughter Tammy, who has scars from her past. I am her dad, just like You are my dad. When You look at me, I suppose You see scars, because I know I have them.

We just had another storm. This time instead of cold snow, it was hot lightning. Some things got fried: our transformer, a main line circuit breaker…don’t really know what all yet, because I’m writing to the tune of a Coleman Lantern.

Here I am making another trip around Your desert trying to figure out what this life is all about. All my things are gone except Your darkness. It’s so dark outside, but You know what? That feels good because I know You are in the darkness, as well as the light.

We are all a bunch of misfits. We all have our scars, our problems, our trials, but You, Jesus, paid for them all with Your scars to make us perfect before Your Father. You bought a bunch of misfits like us because You loved us so much.

May we care about each other like You do. Willing to go the extra mile for one another. Not clinging to the things of this world. May we have a heart for the things that really matter.

Help us not to get so focused on this world, but instead, on things of Your Kingdom.

Help us to share with lost souls. Let us reach out to scarred people, even the misfits.

Help us to do Your will.

Father, You are good. You are Holy. You are what life is all about, not Pacific Power & Light. May we focus on You.

I guess what I want to say is (as I sit here in the darkness and Pacific Power & Light has failed me once again) trust in Him, the Light of the world. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is a friend that is closer than a brother.

Put your trust in Him.

God our Father would say, “Bring me the scarred, the downcast and the lost, theirs will be the Kingdom of Heaven.

I once held a banquet and invited many noble men, but they were all busy about life: land to buy, horses to try, too many things to do. So, I said: Go to the poor afflicted and invite them to My banquet. They will have time for Me.”

When there are no distractions of this world and you’re sitting in the darkness with only a Coleman Lantern and the stars, God and His goodness is all you’ll see.

Thank You, Father for being so faithful, even to a second time of taking me through the desert to show me once again what is important…You and Your Kingdom…not me.

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

A Near Death Experience

My buried body began to breathe…

I remember lying dead in the dark or fast asleep…

No sound, no sight, no feeling, no beating heart.

No breathing, yet I felt like everything was paradise. All my friends, grandparents, mom and dad were all there. We didn’t have to say anything. We were just fully known without words.

My best friend, Jesus was there, and a big wedding feast had been prepared for us all.

We all had a new body that was so fit in our prime, no tears, no sorrow, no pain, everything was pure Heaven. More perfect than I could have ever imagined.

Then I felt my heart start to beat as I was looking down on myself. Blood started rushing through my veins.

How could this be?

I am dead and in Heaven.

I heard a voice saying, “It’s not your time yet. You have to go back.

“No, I cried, I want to stay here.”

The voice said, “It’s for My glory that others might see and believe.”

Just then, I felt myself beginning to breathe. My lungs started gasping air, I was dead, but now I am breathing. It was so dark and cold I couldn’t see anything. I got to my knees, then to my feet.

I thought I could hear a voice calling my name: “Come forth, Lazarus”.

So, I started walking toward the voice of my Savior. My face and body were all wrapped. They uncovered my face. It was so bright outside the tomb.

As my eyes adjusted to the light, I could barely make out my sisters Mary and Martha standing there with a crowd gathered around.

As my sight improved, I could see Jesus, my Savior with tears rolling down His face. He told those watching, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

“Then Jesus said, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?’ So, they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, ‘Father, I thank you that You have heard me. I knew that You always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that You sent me.’ When He had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out!’ The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, ‘Take off the grave clothes and let him go’.” John 11:40-44

So, to all my friends and loved ones, when I go and my time has come, don’t weep for me because I will be where my soul has always longed to be…

Heaven my Home.

I don’t want to come back!

Much love,

Brother Dex

Psalm 86:11 NIV “Teach me Your way, Lord, that I may rely on Your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.”

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Inspired by Max Lucado’s entries in Grace for the Moment.

Galatians 5:22 NKJV “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

LOVE

1 John 4:19“We love Him because He first loved us.”

Today, Jesus, I will reflect on Your magnificent love that brought You to a hopeless and dark place. A love that calls to us. A love that awakens our souls. Your love redeems and restores us to our Father. May I offer a fragment of that love today to those I don’t know. To my loved ones and friends as well. May the light You brought, the light You placed in my heart shines out to those You are calling. May they see only You.

JOY

Romans 15:13NIV “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Because of Your death, and resurrection, today I will rest in Your joy. The joy of Your sovereign-ness, the joy set before You, the joy of our reconciliation through You, Jesus. The joy that You are with us now. The joy that someday we will see You face to face. The joy that comes with knowing You sought us. Thank you, Holy spirit for dwelling in me, in those who choose You, Jesus. May others be drawn to you Father, and the same joy that overflows in me will overflow in them.

PEACE

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Today I will start with You – Your sovereignty, Your plans, Your will. I will see You in every step I take, knowing they are ordered by You. Casting cares, pulling down strongholds, coming to You with my burdens. I will breathe deep the breath You have given me, releasing it on the shafts of Your holy, peaceful light filtering through to my heart.

PATIENCE (forbearance, longsuffering)

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness: but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Today, I will be still and know that You are God. I will wait before You, knowing Your plan for me is perfect. In knowing that I can rest in You and be patient with the world around me, and myself. Today I will pray in that long line, I will pray for the person who speeds by me. I will wait.

KINDNESS

Ephesian 2:6-7 “And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come He might shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”

Today I will clothe myself with Your kindness. Today I will offer an outstretched hand, a smile of encouragement, a word of hope. Today I will extend a word of thanks to those showing up, and acknowledge the value of each person (whom You created) that I encounter. Guide my words, direct my path. Father, thank you for Your kindness towards me.

GENTLENESS (meekness)

1 Peter 3:4 “Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Lord, today I will be gentle. Nothing rushed, nothing that cannot wait, gentle in my words, my gestures, my movements. Aware that as I rest in You, I can be gentle towards others and myself.

GOODNESS

Psalm 27:13 NKJV “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

Today, Father, may I only see those whom You have created. Not my limited view. Today I will go the extra mile. I will step into that homeless person’s shoes. I will look people in the eye with Your love, and will encourage and lift up all that cross my path today. May they realize it comes from You and You only!

FAITHFULNESS

2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."

Today I will choose to be conscious of my faithfulness. First to You, Jesus. May I only look to You throughout the day, relinquish my will and be faithful to what You say, and would have me do. I will be there for my husband; may he know without a doubt I am faithful. My kids and grandchildren, may they know I will support them and love them no matter what because of what You have done for me Lord. I will be faithful towards the people who cross my path, with no unloving judgement or words. I will show up, do my best, remember what I need to remember, to support all and be an advocate if necessary.

SELF-CONTROL (temperance)

James 1:4 “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” Ephesians 4:29 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Today I choose to surrender and guard my thoughts, my tongue, my opinions. I will refuse to judge without knowledge and understanding and then only to discern what You, Lord, would have me say or do. I will recognize that negative emotions have a place, but they do not run the “show”. You are in control of my life. I will do my part within Your plan.

Because HE lives, because He is changing me, and without You, dear Jesus, I am nothing,

Miracles in the Heart

As another day of rummaging around for food, looking for a quick pilfering opportunity, or something to snatch and sell, he reflected on the rumors he had heard. He knew the arguments on both sides.

The commoners proclaiming a prophet, some even saying he was the Messiah, the hotshots in the temple accusing him of blasphemy. He really could care less, just needed what he needed to get by.

We don’t know much about him, how he arrived where he did. What his motivation was that brought him to a certain end. Was his family starving, his child facing death? We can only speculate.

What we do know is that he was positioned on the right side of Jesus, in pain and torment. Most likely no one was there to comfort him. He heard Jesus say, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

He listened to the soldiers taunt Jesus, gamble for His clothing, try and give Him bitter water. At one point he even joined in. He heard the ridicule and sarcasm coming from the thief on the other side of Jesus.

He also heard Jesus tell His mother that John would now be her son, and John, that Mary would be his mother. (John 19:26-27)

What were his thoughts? Might his heart be growing soft?

The thief on the other side said to Jesus, “Are you not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!” To which the other thief replied, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong”. (Luke 23:39-41)

A thief, accepting responsibility for his actions and his consequence.

In defense of Jesus, a decision made, a stand taken. He turns his head towards Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” (Luke 23: 42)

From an outcast, thief, and one who deserved to die to a man recognizing Jesus as the Messiah, calling Him Lord, and asking, in faith, to be remembered when Jesus enters His kingdom. That’s what Jesus does: miracles in the heart.

Jesus replies, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”

Who would we have sided with that day? Only one thief chose eternal life.

You can make the same decision right now. Choose the powerful love and mercy, grace and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let your heart soften, recognize and accept your sinfulness and believe that Jesus paid the price for you. Ask Him into your heart, He’ll work a miracle.

Eternity is too long to be wrong.

A thankful sheep again and again,

PRAYING PSALM 121

Provider, Protector and Preserver

“I will lift mine eyes unto the hills. Where does my help come from?”

From you, El Elyon. Elohim, who made heaven and earth, the galaxies, the stars, the planets will guide and keep me. I bow in humbleness and thankfulness. Forgive me when I forget, get anxious and look to my own ability. May my eyes only see You, Jesus.

El Shaddai, You will not let my foot be moved, but enable me to stand firm, keeping me on the path you have laid out for me. Help me to rest in the knowledge of Your constant, watchful protection. Yahweh, You who keeps Israel, Your chosen nation of people, will neither slumber nor sleep. And, because Your Son willingly sacrificed Himself on a cross for my sin, I am grafted in. You are beyond good; You are beyond gracious.

Praise You Yahweh Nissi, for being my keeper. Your right hand is my shade, my covering. I am grateful You guard and watch over me day and night. The intense heat of the sun cannot harm me by day nor the frigid cold of the moon by night.

Adonai, thank you for protecting and preserving me from all evil. Not just some, but ALL evil. There is none other who can, because there is no other!

You, and only You, will preserve my soul. You and only You will guard my going out and coming in. Not just for today, or a day here or there, but…forevermore! May my will be only Yours forevermore.

How can I not share with others who You are?

Hallowed be Thy name El Olam.

Your daughter,

Remind Us O Lord

According to the website - bibleinoneyear.org the word remember shows up about 240 times.

Stewardshiplibrary.com says remember is used over 1,200 times and the word forget is used over 300 times.

Bible.knowin-jesus.com says forget occurs 88 times in 12 translations.

Regardless of the exact amount, it’s important to realize we need reminders – often!

Psalm 103:2 says, “Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all His benefits.”

Let’s remember to be intentional in our reading of the word and never forget all He’s done for us.

Remind us O Lord our righteousness is in You. You became sin, defeated death and rose for our eternal salvation.

Let us not forget O Lord, we are not of this world, You are transforming us by renewing our minds.

Remind us O Lord to keep our eyes on You. You are our good Shepherd who leads us by still waters.

Let us not forget O Lord, You are our Rock. We stand on Your promises with joy.

Remind us O Lord, to cast all our cares on You. Your yoke easy, Your burden, light.

Let us not forget O Lord, in our weakness You are our strength. In our pain You are our Comforter.

Remind us O Lord, You are faithful. You are the same yesterday, today and will be tomorrow.

Let us not forget O Lord, we are where You would have us to be, giving thanks in ALL circumstances.

Remind us, O Lord, You are the Potter and the Master weaver. We are made in Your image; You are sanctifying us, and we will become who You want us to be.

Let us not forget O Lord that You are in us, to will, and to work for Your purpose.

Remind us O Lord of who we are in You. Salt and light of the earth so that Your glory may be seen.

Let us not forget O Lord that You are preparing a place for us and are coming back for us. HALLELUJAH!

Remind us O Lord to rest in Your sovereignty, continually, with love, hope, peace and joy in our hearts.

Let us not forget Your will be done, not ours. Your thoughts and ways are so much higher.

Talentedly obedient

We all have many spiritual giftings from the Lord. Many of those gifts we were born with are the aptitudes and skills that set us apart from each other. Some gifts I believe we receive when we were born again. The joy that comes from using our gifts for the Lord is so worth being obedient to the calling and giftings of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 12:7 says- “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”

There’s no question we each are given the manifestation of the Spirit. Our goal is to discover what that gifting is.

Romans 12: 4-8 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.  We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;  if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”

Our gifts are given to help edify the Body of Christ and we need to share them with others. They are like a fountain of water being poured into our lives from our Heavenly Father. If we bottle up and store these gifts they become stale and useless. Stagnant water does not refresh nor is it pleasing to the senses!

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17

The living Body of Christ today is the church. We are to be a living sacrifice to the Lord- “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:2.

So what is your sacrifice?

Romans 12:9-13 “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”

That is a beautiful sacrifice to the Lord to love others the way that Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us. When we die to ourselves and live for Christ we can share the spiritual gifts that God blessed us with to help others.

So, I ask you today, Brother or Sister in Christ- What are your spiritual gifts? Are you using them to edify the Body of Christ?

Colossians 3:23- “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord and not for men.”

Abba Father, thank You for all the gifts you have blessed us with. Please help us to discover the gifts and use them for Your glory so that others may know and see Your love and goodness. We truly do want to be talentedly obedient. In Jesus name, amen.

cross of christ

Did you know that in Numbers 2 God gave very clear and orderly instructions to Moses how to set up the 12 tribes of Israel that actually formed a cross? Yesterday (2-15-2026) at Applegate Christian Fellowship, Pastor Alex gave a very enlightening sermon in Numbers 24. Yes, I know it's hard to imagine the Book of Numbers being exciting, but I tell you, I have learned so much from this very gifted Pastor!

The sorcerer Balaam was hired by King Balak of Moab, to curse Israel, but Balaam could only pronounce blessings on Israel because the Lord forbid him to curse them. King Balak took Balaam to three different mountains overlooking the Israelite encampment and upon seeing the formation of their tents he utters this oracle:

"How beautiful your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel!" Numbers 24:5

Pastor Alex put up this picture of the Israelites encampment to illustrate what Balaam was seeing. Amazing! This is obviously a foreshadowing of the cross of Jesus Christ! Moses had no idea what magnificent plans God had in mind, but he obediently followed God's very precise instructions on how to arrange the encampment. And look what happens when you do exactly what God tells you to do even when it doesn't make sense! You end up glorifying the LORD God Almighty! Hallelujah! Thank You Father!

O Heavenly Father, how lovely are Your dwelling places, O God of Jacob! My soul yearns for You and seeks Your face. You alone make us dwell in safety and bring us into the abundant Christian life. We may not have the riches of gold and silver, but You Lord give us every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. We are indeed a richly blessed people and we are Yours! Thank You Father, in Jesus name amen!!

Bunker buster

“May day! May day! This ship is going down!”

As the captain of my own ship, I navigated through some very turbulent waters on my own heading and in my own disastrous way. I bashed against the rocks and hit the reefs stumbling and reeling like a drunken sailor, because I was.

For years I drank myself into oblivion practically every weekend. There are so many days of my life I can’t remember because my brain was so pickled. And then guilt and shame would hit and I’d swear to God I would quit and make promises that I couldn’t keep.

I went to AA and learned that I wasn’t alone. I learned terms like; one day at a time, there is a  committee in your head and hit bottom. I thought I had hit bottom on several occasions only to find out that I had a bunker under the bottom that I would retreat into and stay there until I deemed it safe to start all over again. The many voices of the committee said you don’t need to quit; you’re not an alcoholic! You can handle it! And on and on it would go!

Finally, God dropped a bunker busting bomb that shook me to my core! By the grace of God, I didn’t do permanent damage. It’s a miracle that my liver survived! But it worked, God had my attention. I was finally sick and tired of being sick and tired and knew I had to change.

I repented.

God took away my desire to get drunk! It was the only tool I had in my toolbox that worked at helping me escape when life got ugly. God replaced my entire toolbox and gave me Jesus. I was done trying to get sober on my own. I completely surrendered.

That was May 1, 2009. I’ve been clean and sober for 17 years! Praise the Lord!

“God is ready to assume full responsibility for the life wholly yielded to Him.” Andrew Murray

2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

I was ready to be wholly loyal and completely committed to Him. I was saved in April of 1976 but I had never fully given my heart to the Lord and He was patiently waiting. When I finally surrendered He was there to give me the strength I needed to overcome my addiction.

Psalm 31:23-24 23 “Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves the faithful and fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the LORD.”

My pride had kept me from complete surrender for too many years and I had proven I couldn’t get clean on my own as much as I tried and tried and tried… as they say, How’s that workin’ for ya?!?!

But God, He couldn’t leave me that way. I turned toward Him, drew near Him and He strengthened my heart! His love captivated my soul and He set me free from the grip of the devil’s destruction!

He rescued me!

I know God said this to Paul but, He said it to me too- 2 Corinthians 12:9 “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Addiction is a powerful infirmity and enemy of the saints who want to yield to God’s control. By the power of the blood of the Lamb, every time the enemy would cast a temptation my way God provided a way of escape and helped me overcome! God is my strong tower and redeemer! All the years the locusts had devoured were restored to me in a powerful way.

Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him (the accuser of the brethren) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

Every setback was a set up for triumph in my life! And now I’ve been given a powerful testimony of the life changing, heart rearranging power of Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!

Heavenly Father, words fall short of the gratitude I feel so deeply in my heart and soul. Thankfully I will have all eternity to say thank You for rescuing me from the dominion of darkness and transferring me into the Kingdom of Your marvelous light! You are truly an awesome God! In Jesus name, amen.

god's refrigerator

Sealed with a promise

You know how you put your favorite pictures or drawings on your refrigerator? Your child comes home from school and hands you a picture and says, “I made this just for you!” And you put it in a prominent place on the front of your refrigerator, so proud and honored that your precious child thought enough of you to draw a pretty picture.

Or someone sends you a special picture of a milestone event, a graduation or a wedding or a newborn baby and you put it front and center right in the middle of your refrigerator.

And if you’re like me, you use your favorite magnets to frame that special picture.

I wonder if God has a refrigerator that He puts pictures on? I think it would have to be a pretty big refrigerator to put all His favorites on! But God doesn’t have favorites!

John 3:16 says that God loves the WHOLE world! Can you imagine?!? We wouldn’t all fit on His refrigerator!

I love the scripture in Deuteronomy 7:9- “Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and LAVISHES his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.”

And 1 John 3:1- “See what great love the Father has LAVISHED on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

This passage of scripture really highlights how much our Father loves us- Ephesians 3:3-12-

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will— to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.  In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He LAVISHEDon us. With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of His glory.”

Wow! God lavishes His love on His kids! Lavish- do you know the definition of that word?

The Biblical definition is- “The word 'lavish' is a term that is commonly used to describe something that is abundant, extravagant, or excessive. In the Bible, the word 'lavish' is often used to describe the abundant blessings that God bestows upon His people.”

Sounds to me like God’s refrigerator would have to be infinitesimally huge! And all our pictures would be on it!

Abba Father, thank You for Your love that You lavish on your kids. I can hardly wait for the day when we will see You face to face and feel Your loving arms around us! What a day that will be! In Jesus name, amen.

Sealed with a promise

Sealed with a promise

Sealed with a promise

Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV ” In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

“The guarantee of our inheritance” is the Holy Spirit Himself. Interestingly, the Greek word for guarantee can also be used to indicate an engagement ring. As Christ is the Bridegroom and the church is the bride, so the Holy Spirit is the down payment, the earnest money, in the long-awaited marriage of the two. (see Revelation 19:7)” Quoted from Nelson Study Bible note on Ephesians 1:14.

“Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you that where I am, you may be also.” John 14:3. In Galilean wedding customs the groom would give his bride an engagement ring and that was as good as marriage. Then the groom would give the Father of the bride a dowry, telling her Father, she is mine, I paid for her. Then he would go and prepare a place for her in his Father’s house. Then the groom would have to wait for his Father to tell him, “Go get your bride!”

No one knows when that day will come, not even Jesus. “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” Matthew 24:36

We as the church have been bought and paid for by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. The moment we accepted His marriage proposal, we became His! And we have been given an engagement ring, the Holy Spirit of promise! A guarantee of our inheritance, whom is Christ Jesus Himself through the Holy Spirit who dwells in the Bride of Christ!

As we wait upon Christ to come get His Bride, we have preparations to make. We have a wedding to plan for, guests to invite, a dress to buy and bridesmaids to choose to stand beside us and help us to prepare. This is the most exciting day in the life of a Bride!

Meanwhile, Jesus is in His Father’s house preparing a room for us. Making furniture and bringing together all the accommodations for setting up our Home together. Can you imagine how beautiful it’s going to be?

When He’s all finished, He waits patiently for His Father to give the command, “Go get Your Bride!” He and His groomsmen go to the home of the Bride carrying a litter. When they get to the Bride’s house they sound a trumpet calling out the Bride and bridesmaids. They set the litter down for the Bride to sit upon, raise her up and whisk her away through the air to the Father’s House! There they feast together for a week or in our case, seven years!

I watched a documentary called “Before The Wrath” that explains the cultural background of wedding customs in Galilee. (I highly recommend watching it!) The wedding feast was in Cana where Jesus turned the water into wine in John 2. The disciples would have been very familiar with the symbolism of the wedding feast that Jesus referred to when He said, I go to prepare a place for you in my Father’s house.

We as the church also need to be very familiar with what Jesus was talking about. In the last Book of the Bible, Revelation and the last chapter, 22:17- “The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

Revelation 19:6-9 “And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ”

The glorious journey begins the moment we say Yes to Jesus’ proposal, and accept His promise ring, the seal of the Holy Spirit guaranteeing what is to come!

Abba Father, we ask You to increase our knowledge of Jesus. Help us to fix our eyes on our bridegroom and learn what Your Word teaches us about Him. Help us to wait patiently for You to tell Jesus, “Go get Your Bride!” Help us to abide in Jesus and tell others about Him. Help us to occupy and be about the work You have given us to do to prepare for the Wedding Supper of the Lamb! Help us to be dressed and ready when that trumpet sounds! In Jesus Name, amen.

keys

Sealed with a promise

Sealed with a promise

I love practicing with our Senior Moments worship team. Vi tickles the ivories and says, “Is that a key?” And Bob will say, “Can you go a little higher?” and give a big thumbs up indicating the key is too low for his bass voice! Then sometimes our soprano (me) will say can you go a little lower that’s too high for me! Vi just runs all over the keys on the piano and acts like it is no big deal to jump from C to D or to a G. She has been blessed with a gift of music that is rare to find. The key unlocks the beautiful sound of our voices and if it’s not the right key it won’t sound melodious!

Another key that I’ve worked with as a locksmith is a completely different type of key. For twenty-one years I cut keys for houses and cars and rekeyed many locks. Having the right key meant the difference between having access to a house or car or not.

Being the word nerd that I am I have studied the word “key”. Did you know there are six different nouns of the word key and there’s a verb and an adjective! It would be easy to get keyed up just thinking about it!

Recently I’ve seen the word key in many articles I’ve read and in a devotion that was posted. I think the Lord is trying to get my attention and key in on the most valuable usage of the word!

My favorite usage of the word is when Jesus says keys in Matthew 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Jesus is saying we as the children of God have the power to bind the forces of evil and darkness. We have the ability to loose the work of God on earth and the authority to bind evil on earth and it will be bound in heaven! Wow! Those are very important keys! No locksmith could ever duplicate those keys!

So, I ask you today; what are you doing with your keys to the kingdom of Heaven?

Abba Father, being given the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven is an important responsibility. Help us to manage these keys well and help others to unlock access into Your Kingdom. You are such a loving Father and not willing that any should perish outside Your gates! In Jesus name, amen.

A Memory Never Forgotten

A memory stirred I have had for a long, long time ago as I served as a deacon-elder at Applegate Christian Fellowship.

While we were inside and had multiple services, I had the keys to most all and would show up at about 5:45 am to get things set...the bulletins out and distributed, lights on, then I'd open the main office.

By then, my dear brothers Bruce Sturm, Phil Houck, etc. would be coming in. We would go to the back-office area, by KAPL studio. There was a long "meeting table/chairs" set up, and we would leave lights dimly on, sit around, share, then join in prayer covering.

This one Sunday morn, maybe 20 minutes into our prayer, we saw a figure come back, standing behind Bruce in the dim light. Bruce looked around and asked if we could help him.

He was a big guy, maybe 6'2", clean but troubled. He asked Bruce if there was a pastor in that could pray for and with him.

Bruce quietly turned to me, and whispered "Ken, this one is yours".

I got up, shook his hand in introduction, then said, "Let's go up to the front office and talk".

We sat on the couch by Beca's desk, and he poured out his life of alcohol abuse and problems he was having. I was truly called for that one. My heart poured out on him as Jesus gave me to say and share.

21 years in the Bay Area Business scene so included much of what he was going through (as in my testimony). I used every single thing in my heart spirit to help him see...there is a Jesus Who loved him, and, as He delivered me, He ALONE, could and would deliver him.

We spoke for some time, I then anointed him, prayed with arms about him, and he thanked me and left. I have never seen him again.

No way can I count the times he comes to my mind, and my heart stirs in prayer every time. Our Lord loves even the least of us...He doesn't care what you have done, He only cares that you have been moved to reach out to Him and ask forgiveness, then, open your heart, listen and follow HIM!

Even as I type this, I have tears forming, and I, as always, pray for that man. I rejoice that that one time, there was a Jesus connection.

God Bless you and all you do!

Be Strong and Courageous

Oh, how I love the book of Joshua. So many lessons in honoring God's Word and leading. Being faithful, being strong against all obstacles.

The Lord tells Joshua three things:

*What he should have...courage

*What he must do...observe laws and take the land

*Of what he could be assured...God's constant & supporting presence

These three things are the essence of all leadership qualities in God's work.

Beginning at verse #5 in chapter 1, are words I cling to each and every second, especially in the days and times we are in..."No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I have been with Moses, I will be with you."

This promise from our Lord God is as strong today as it was in the time of Joshua.

No matter what is going on, or troubling you, as you reach out in prayer and raise your hands up, there is guaranteed a huge HAND with scars reaching down to lift you up and though any trouble.

On November 4, 2004, about 4:00pm, as I finished up mowing my lawn in Medford, after packing all day as we were moving, I felt a great pressure on my chest. I put the mower away (not real smart!) and went into the dinner call. I told my wife I had to lay down.

When I went prone, I felt as if a 500lb. weight had been dropped on my chest. I had a little bell by my bed and luckily reached it and Nancy came running. I managed to mumble..."ambulance...".

We were members of Mercy Flights, and by the Grace of God, there was a unit on standby some three blocks away. They immediately knew the problem and the RN stuffed 3 nitro pills under my tongue and put me on oxygen.

We reached Asante ER fast, and after a couple of tests, I was put on a gurney and rushed down the hall by two young ladies. In the dark quiet, in only my right ear, I heard the most gentle man's voice ever say...."be at peace. I rejoice at the death of my saints!" That is Psalms 116:15 and will be etched in my soul till I kneel at His Feet!

A dear friend in Christ, a worship leader at church and missionary we had supported, ran in, laid hands on me, prayed the most precious prayer, told me to be quiet as God had it and he, Nick, would be the surgeon's assistant.

Dr. Carmeci came rushing in, they had me on ice, and hours later I awoke in great pain in cardiac critical care.

Some four months later, we were at dinner at Nick and Dana's home. After dinner, he then said..."I think you should know this. When Dr. Carmeci opened you up and began the job of a 4-way 're-plumbing', I held your heart in my hand for about an hour." I wept as I held Nick close.

In Joshua 1:5-9, God assures Joshua of success if and when he did two things (said some 5 times) ...be strong and be courageous. Then, in verse 9, the Lord "closes" with..."Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!". And the rest is Biblical history of the taking of the land of the giants.

Are there "giants" in your life now?

Challenges seemingly overwhelming?

Hurts and sorrows?

Deep wounds from the past?

Mark 11:25-26 has cleared my heart break ups many times..."And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in Heaven may forgive you your transgressions. But, if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in Heaven forgive your transgressions.".

May our Blessed Lord Jesus cover you each one...so very soon we will all be together for eternity!

Plant a Seed

Each day is a new joy in the Lord! As the earth grows more dim, the Light grows brighter!

"But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water." Psalms 1:2

" God has given each of you a gift from His great variety...use them well to serve one another." 1 Peter 4:10

As I try to think over the many years, He has blessed me with, all I can come up with is His Love and Cover that has gone before me every single step. I rejoice every moment at the family He put me into and the love and truth in which we were raised.

Now, as we all are in the age of grand-children, and some blessed with great-grands, it more than ever is our calling to share forward the total, all-encompassing, love of Jesus Christ.

So sadly, I see many young who don't even have love in them, are so near empty, and I call out to our Lord Jesus to order their steps and light their paths as He did me.

And, sadly so, it may be the calling of each of us who have been through a long life, have experienced sadness, heartbreak, and sorrow, to open up our arms and hearts and share the beauty and love and great peace ONLY available through Jesus Christ.

I have always cherished the story of Joseph in Genesis 48-50.

As his brothers were sent to him in Egypt to gain food for the family, unknowingly going to their brother they sold to slavery, Jacob's precious son Joseph graciously greeted them and provided for them and for his dear father's burial, and Moses tells us in Genesis 50:21, Joseph spoke..."He comforted them and spoke kindly to them."

Only in my deepest spirit can I even begin to imagine the tears that flowed from his brothers as they stood before a man who could have ordered their deaths.

No matter what, who, when or where, a kind word will always turn away wrath, and plant a seed that, prayerfully, will grow into a tree that will blossom.

And that very tree is fed one way alone...by the Streams of Living Water! John 14:6 is the bottom line of Jesus Christ for me...”He IS the Way, Truth, and Life....."

May our Lord Jesus cover, bless and grow you all, each one for His Glory!

Setting Our Agenda

So many times, throughout my life, I have tried to set my own agenda. Like Saul, I try to take what God gives me in direction/leading and then, set my own agenda to achieve it. I hear from God, listen, then find myself in the past saying, "OK Lord. Thanks, now I'll show You how I can do it even better....watch this!".

In 2 Samuel 4 study, David waited 7 1/2 years in Hebron for the Lord to work His will. So, as David, we should also accept God's word/vision and not try to embellish it with our own agenda.

Do not ever try to help God out. It will never and has never worked. Just take time to wait on Him, let Him do His work, as He will then use you to complete the walk He has set before you for Him.

Isaiah 45: 9-12...It is His work. Join in, come to Him, let Him know you are His to be used. Know Him, The Man, and be His friend.

Isaiah 43:10-13...He IS God, the Great I am!

Isaiah 44:6-8... He is the Alpha and Omega, our Rock. In Isaiah 45:22

He says..."I Am God, and there is NO OTHER".

Joshua 23: 3, 8, 10-11. and 14. He alone is in charge. It is now and always has been His "fight". Do not forget this ever.

In the New Testament, John 16:33 is so very clear. He has overcome ALL, so we are to seek Him above all, love Him above all, worship Him alone, adore Him, and, best of all, talk to Him in prayer. He IS closer than a brother, awaiting our very "call".

In 1 Samuel 1, the great story of Hannah, who prayed always to God to give her a son, and she would dedicate him to Him forever. In chapter 3, that little boy, Samuel, was ministering to the Lord, before Eli.

Three times Samuel heard a voice and went to Eli. Finally, Eli understood it was God calling Samuel and told him to answer God. When He did call, as directed, Samuel answered, "Speak, for Thy servant is listening".

May we all answer...Here am I, Lord...Thy servant is listening.

Blessings of great peace and joy to all.

So very soon, we, too, will hear His call, and we will be before Him for all eternity! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU HAVE A PULSE, GOD HAS A PURPOSE

"My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me [what I was born to do] by the Lord Jesus Christ". Acts 20:24

Our lives need, so badly, purpose and persistence. God never ever promised us a life walk of easy, no trouble, no hardship.

BUT He DID promise us to be with us always, and that we all would be with Him for eternity in Heaven, away from the tribulation so near, and then the millennium to follow...then, HEAVEN!

Just try to imagine the beauty, joy, love, peace being with our Lord Jesus FOREVER!!!! And, that great Marriage Feast of The Lamb....I/we will be able to eat all the bacon (turkey?), chocolate, donuts we want...and no bad ingredients! HA!

On the monument of the great writer Jack London is written: "I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather my spark burn out in a brilliant blaze than that it should be stifled by dry rot.

I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

Do you wish to make a difference in this world, with your life, then you must discover (in prayer) your God-given assignment. Then, commit to it fully.

Paul says that…"my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus, the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God".

Then, as Paul, through beatings, trouble, hardship, we must persist. One of my historical heroes is Winston Churchill. I have a cherished 2000-page biography of his life. I love! It took Sir Winston three years to get thru the eighth grade as he had trouble learning English. Really!

Yet, his words and speeches through

out WW II galvanized Britain to fight and win against overwhelming odds...can you imagine going against Hitler's forces of evil? Sir Winston also wrote..."We make a living by what we get, BUT we make a life by what we give."

When asked to give a commencement address at Oxford University, he delivered the shortest speech on record--just six words. "Never give up! Never give up!!"

Those six words are the essence of all purpose and persistence! On March 16, 2018, my dear middle daughter, redhead, Kimberly, wrote to me in a love card..."If you have a pulse, God has a purpose." Priceless!

In 1974, in a small venue in Santa Cruz, I saw a film was to be shown called "The Little Prince" and starring Gene Wilder (my favorite guy!). Words from that story have always been on a card in my Bible..."It is only with the heart that one can see rightly...what is essential is invisible to the eyes", by Antoine de Saint-Exupe'ry.

And we who love our Lord know what He says in His Word, to Samuel in 1 Samuel 16:7......"for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the HEART!".

May each and every one of us have a heart for Him, and in that strength, may we pour out on each one we touch!

Shalom

Oh, How Our Lord Loves Us

Lately, I have been overwhelmed by the love I have seen and received all my life...and, BEFORE!

Psalms 139:13-18 is a favorite of mine. He knew us before we even were, He knit us together (I think of learning to knit and crochet at my Nana Skeen's feet) in our Mother's womb.

Each and every single cell, each nerve, vessel, et.al. was from His Hand. Talk about an architect from Heaven!!!!!!!

As each day passes, I am forever grabbing a piece of paper to make a scripture note, even using my hand and pen at times. Yesterday, Isaiah 43:4 was there...."Since you are precious in my sight, and honored, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you.......". And the message goes on and fully explains how very much He cares for YOU!

1 Thessalonians 5:23...."May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ".

In Psalms 119:45, the psalmist expresses his desire to walk in freedom because of his commitment to seeking God's precepts.

Oh, how I pray each one reading this will so feel that need, that he/she will constantly walk in FREEDOM, because of how and why He knit you together. You, we each, are created to be His very vessel to let His light so shine forth from us, that all we meet or deal with will see Jesus.

None of us, NONE, are without sin....thanks Satan!

BUT the One Who knit you together is the same One Who knit Adam and Eve together. So, do not ever weep, moan or cry "oh woe is me!" The ultimate price has been paid, and our sins are washed clean by His very blood.

Don't be arrogant about it, but go forth in praise and thanksgiving, knowing you are clean and perfect in His sight. When we are finally called home, all that bad stuff...those chapters in our book of life we do not like, will be forever gone.

OH, MY HEART! Lord, thank You beyond my words to say.

In His Holy Name......Ken Skeen
